A Peaceful Meal

Well, I know it has been a long time since I have blogged and you are all on the edge of your seats (probably not). I just have not felt that i have had alot to blog about lately.

Well, I think that I finally have something to blog about. Last night while the family was having dinner nothing was out of the ordinary but there was a difference. Yes, we had something different (thanks simplify supper.com)but also, there was a different vibe in the room.

In the past when we have introduced new meals there has been alot of crying and hurt feelings (Crying because they don't want to try it (no, this is not my husband i am talking about :)) and hurt feelings because when it is something new it is usually something that i have actually put some work into). Anyhoo, even though there was something new at the table Sugar did not make her usual stink about it and quietly objected to it. Do I see some maturity going on? Wow.

Berry just ate hers contently as she is want to do. Berry is quite the eater and hoosband and I think that she is on a growth spurt. It is not only the quantity that this little girl eats, but also the way that she eats it. This girl is messy and not just messy but she mutilates her food. YOu wonder, how can a peanut butter and jelly sandwich end up looking like that? One day I will take a picture of the various stages of this girl's food. If food had feelings, I think that the food would be devistated but maybe the food would just be happy that it was getting used to nourish someone. I just don't know but I digress.

Back to the feeling in the air at supper, it could be called cheerful and peaceful even when Sugar tried her unfamiliar chilli by tasting single chili beans, poking around at the meat, and finally deciding she wasn't going to finish it. Well, Hoosband noticed this and commented that he thought that after years of praying for patience he had finally acheived it at that moment (However, we knew that this would be a fleeting thing). It wasn't that there was not alot going on that could have turned into a disaster but that we chose not to notice or act upon it and even now, I can not remember exactally what was occuring. It was nice. Immediately, after this moment, we looked over at Berry who was sitting in her chair and on her fingers was a brown substance. Oh, Poo! She has excrement on her fingers! The perfect climax to the near-perfect meal we were enjoying. I jumped up and changed her and the moment continued. What a nice meal.
